The Solarium Group Suspends Operations to Reassess Operating Model

Washington, D.C. — The Solarium Group (TSG), a U.S.-based strategic advisory firm focused on complex, high-stakes environments, announced today that it will enter a period of strategic pause to reassess its operating model and future direction.

This decision reflects current conditions across the global development and international advisory landscape, where client demand, budget cycles, and institutional priorities remain in flux. While the need for senior, practitioner-led expertise continues to grow, the market has not yet aligned to support that demand in a consistent and scalable way. In parallel, the firm’s founder and Managing Principal recently accepted an executive role outside the organization, necessitating a transition in day-to-day leadership. Taken together, these dynamics make this the right moment for the firm to step back, re-evaluate its model, and determine how best to position for the next phase.

Founded as a platform for senior practitioners across diplomacy, defense, development, and global markets, TSG brought together experienced operators to support organizations navigating institutional transitions, market entry, and complex operating environments.

During this period, the firm will suspend operations in its current form while completing existing commitments and ensuring an orderly and professional transition.

“TSG was built on the idea that seasoned foreign affairs and defense practitioners, working together under a shared standard, can help organizations navigate geopolitical complexity and deliver real outcomes,” said Founder and Managing Principal Troy Tillis. “Given current market conditions and shifts in day-to-day management of the platform, this is a moment to step back and reassess with intention. Our focus now is on determining how that model is best structured to meet the market as it evolves.”
